Colony lands global e-commerce
giant eBay

NEWS / 4 July 2024

Tech giant eBay has cherry-picked Colony as their new workspace provider, establishing a 4,000 square foot home for their Web3 team in the Ancoats district. Colony, boasting approximately 150,000 square feet of workspace across six prime locations, is recognised as one of Manchester’s leading operators in the sector.

This exciting collaboration sees eBay's Web3 team (now including the talented staff from KnownOrigin which eBay acquired in 2022) grow their Manchester presence while making a strategic move from Circle Square to just outside the Northern Quarter. This prime location situates them perfectly within a dynamic ecosystem of cutting-edge enterprises and visionary entrepreneurs. The Ancoats district, renowned for its creative energy and bustling business environment, offers the ideal setting for eBay’s innovative team to thrive.

The deal marks a milestone for both eBay and Colony. "We are delighted to be chosen by eBay as their workspace partner in Manchester,” says Rebecca Cox, Operations Director at Colony. Securing a major company like eBay as a new client “highlights the value of our flexible workspaces and underscores our commitment to providing exceptional workspace solutions to businesses of all sizes", Rebecca expands. By the same token, eBay are able to leverage Colony's premium workspaces and state-of-the-art facilities to drive innovation, attract top talent, and achieve its strategic objectives in the North West.

eBay’s choice stands as a testament to this operator’s reputation for excellence and innovation in providing flexible workspace solutions. Andy Gray, Director of eBay’s Web3 team, remarks, "Serviced offices provide us with the agility to scale rapidly and fully utilise the available resources. We are thrilled to have found our new home with Colony!"
