Gilbanks unveils design for
second Manchester site

Gilbanks has today unveiled stunning CGI’s of its new 34,000 sq ft of flexible office space, at No.1 St Michael’s in Manchester. The premium serviced office provider has teamed up with award-winning Ekho Studio to create a modern and unique design for its second flex site in the city.

Gilbanks has carved out a unique space in the market by providing professional firms with a premium  working environment, characterized by exceptional service and the cultivation of strong business communities, through strategic events and networking opportunities.

Now, its new Manchester site is being crafted to support dynamic and productive professional businesses, enhancing No.1 St Michael’s Net Zero Carbon credentials through the use of recycled materials and a proactive waste reduction strategy.

“We undertook a rigorous international search for the best design consultants for our flagship development”, said Alex Duckett, Managing Director of Gilbanks. “Ekho Studio brought a collaborative and creative approach to meeting the brief and has created a workspace that sets a new standard for flexible workspace.”

Ekho Studio, founded by Sarah Dodsworth and Rachel Withey, is bringing their specialised interior design services to the project, creating a flex space that enhances productivity and fosters innovation.

The £400 million St Michael’s project (a collaborative effort between Relentless Developments and stakeholders KKR) commenced in January 2022, with completion anticipated later this year. Situated off Deansgate, the site will include the luxurious five-star W Hotel, a public square, offices, and a rooftop restaurant. Plus, hundreds of new homes are additionally planned.
