Techspace turns gin distillery into 
mega flex flagship

Techspace has announced its largest venture to date: an impressive 80,000 square foot flagship site in Clerkenwell, in partnership with Capreon. Renowned for serving the tech sector for over a decade, Techspace’s milestone marks their 6th premier hub for tech start-ups in London to thrive. Meanwhile, the collab marks Capreon’s first major venture into the London office space market in 18 months. Stay tuned for October 2024!

The former Gordon's gin distillery has undergone a £35 million redevelopment to become a cutting edge office building, serving as Techspace’s most premier location.  Boasting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings, this new Clerkenwell site ranks among the top 10% of UK buildings for ESG credentials, setting a new benchmark for sustainability.

Jonathan Bevan, CEO of Techspace reiterates, “Our new location in Farringdon is a momentous next step; doubling down on a flight to quality, we aim to provide a premium workspace for enterprise-level tech businesses. This deal is also a great example of how an asset owner and an operator like Techspace can work together to acquire new sites. This flagship site adds one of the most popular commuter links in the capital to our portfolio.”

132 Goswell Road will accommodate 900 desks and welcome over 1,000 new members, significantly enhancing Techspace’s portfolio by doubling its membership from 3,500 to over 6,000. What’s more, the site will offer an array of top-tier amenities such as a rooftop café and bar, three terraces with panoramic skyline views, a spacious double-height event venue, and dedicated areas for meetings, wellness activities, and podcasting.

The major news comes after Capreon had “been striving to do a deal like this with Techspace for some time”, Raphael Noé, CEO at Capreon elucidated. “Market dynamics have finally made this possible commercially. It’s a great deal for both parties, and I look forward to doing more transactions like this in the future. The Asset is one of the best in London offering high-quality ESG standards and top amenities in a thriving and well-connected location. We are delighted with the Investment.”

Jake Turbett at Techspace will begin touring the new space this month: “It's been tough to keep this one secret, but I am now incredibly excited to start touring the new Techspace location this month with our broker and agent partners”,  the Area Sales Manager disclosed the news to his LinkedIn following.
