The Flex List: Our favourite fitness
spots on the Flex scene
FEATURES / 24 JUNE 2024
There’s no doubt Fitness is becoming a competitive battleground for providers, with gym and wellness studios no longer spaces to desire, but more so, amenities to demand. We’ve rounded up some of the best spots, where flexible workers are squeezing in a midday workout.
Fora - Chancery House
Step into Chancery House Gym, the crown jewel of fitness sanctuaries where even the dumbbells are top-notch. Lest we forget the incredible pilates set up and personal trainer sessions on tap. We particularly love how the neutral colour palette creates a serene vibe. It’s not just a workout; it’s a rendezvous with tranquillity and focus.
Alternatively, if you find yourself in the Victoria area and fancy a sparring session, why not use the Eccleston Square boxing ring?
The Ministry - Borough
Gym or nightclub? Welcome to one of London’s coolest gyms where The Ministry of Sound pulses through its very DNA, making it the ultimate workout theme. You’ll find a dark, moody ambiance, brought to life with striking ceiling LED lights, perfect for workers escaping the hustle and bustle and zoning into a workout.
General People - Sierra Quebec Bravo, Canary Wharf
Where do we begin? You have the choice of peloton bikes, yoga mats, but for us pilates-lovers it’s the reformers that really steals the show. Safe to say, you can cancel your regular gym memberships, SQB have got you covered.
Link Spaces - Bottanica, Ditton Park, Slough
Enter the epitome of fitness refinement with the state-of-the-art gym on offer in Slough. As a member of Link Spaces, you gain an automatic membership to a private Nuffield Health gym! Fully kitted out with all the equipment one could dream of, this one’s a playground for fitness aficionados.
Cubo - The Lincoln, Manchester
For all the Spin enthusiasts out there, this one’s for you. The Lincoln boasts an exceptionally large, fully equipped spin studio featuring state-of-the-art bikes, cool ambient lighting, and a huge projector for an immersive workout experience like no other. Not a fellow spin-ster? Head over to the yoga studio for a more calming lunch break sweat.
Orega - The Colemore Building, Birmingham
If we could magic a dream gym membership to escape the grind, it would undoubtedly be Orega’s state of the art facility in Birmingham. Every corner shines with the glow of its previous multi-million-pound makeover, making it the ultimate fitness playground. Use their expansive, high tech gym, have a personal training session or take a yoga class, the choice is yours.
Uncommon, Holborn
Catch us having our wellbeing workout at Uncommon’s brand new wellness studio. They have experienced trainers at the ready whether that's morning, lunch or an evening fitness class. We’ll be swapping post-work drinks for post-work weights. P.S. Can't say no to a post-workout cocktail at Pause!
LABS House - Holborn
