The Flex List: The most tempting terraces
on the flex scene

FEATURES / 4 JUNE 2024

It’s no secret that we love a good laptop location. Come summer, our desk chairs get tucked away in favour of some seats outside for some fresh air and a scenic workday set up. We’ve rounded up some of the most tempting terraces on the Flex scene. These are the providers who get our vote.

Argyll, King William Street

We’ll be heading to the terrace at 1 King William Street - a rare outdoor haven in the heart of the Square Mile. With breathtaking views of the area, this private terrace offers a serene setting for work, meetings, relaxation, or your next best event space.

Landmark, Bevis Marks

Elevated thoughts call for elevated spaces. Surrounded by verdant plants, stylish seating and blessed with stunning views of Canary Wharf, the City and Tower Bridge, this is the ultimate spot for creativity and productivity. Plus, the handy glass roof ensures some shelter and shade.

Servcorp, Mayfair

If there's one place you want to be on a sunny day, it's this one. High above the bustling streets of Mayfair, this chic, expansive rooftop terrace is an ideal spot for productivity or perhaps a midday tan top-up. Take your pick.

FORA, London Bridge

Perfect for meetings, lunches and complete with stunning city views, the terrace at 180 Borough High Street is one of Fora’s finest. Seeking a serene outdoor oasis? This is the one.

BE Offices, Birmingham

For office seekers in Birmingham, this one is a must. Whether you’re looking to brainstorm, unwind, or simply enjoy a breath of fresh air, BE has you covered. The cushions have come out and are here to stay all summer.

Halkin, Monument

Whether we’re brainstorming, hosting meetings, or diving into solo projects, 68 King William Street treats us with the inspiring backdrop we need. 68 King William Street is the best terrace for privacy, but for panoramic views head to 10 Lower Thames Street.

Uncommon, Liverpool Street

We’ll be surprised if you don’t recognise these orange cushions. Arguably offering one of the greatest views of the City, Uncommon Liverpool Street has set the bar for the flex operator’s outdoor spaces. We’re hoping Holborn’s terrace will be just as tempting, if not more.

Runway East, Bloomsbury

Whilst we’ve always been fans of the Soho terrace and have our sights set on Birmingham’s rooftop, Bloomsbury has taken ‘hide-away’ to whole a new level. To access this cute and cosy nook, you must (quite literally) pass through the grand painting, sneak through the cosy boho snug, then head out to the courtyard to unwind.

Cubo, Glasgow

Keep your eyes peeled this quarter for the opening of Cubo’s Glasgow site, topped with a rooftop terrace spanning 4,000 sq ft with striking views of Glasgow’s central business district.

The Ministry, Borough

There’s no doubt the Borough terrace will be busy this summer. Housed within The Ministry’s 50,000 sqft warehouse, this 105m2 terrace is the perfect place to decamp or drink up after work.

Clockwise, Wood Green

With two terraces offering stunning views of the City of London and Alexandra Palace, Wood Green offers the best blend of tranquillity and inspiration, making it an ideal location for efficiency and relaxation alike.

X+WHY, One Great Cumberland Place

We love the open-air allure of the terrace at One Great Cumberland Place, giving us plenty of options for alfresco productivity. Situated on the 8th floor, this one’s a great spot for lunch and the views of Hyde Park are splendid.

OSIT, Monument

We’re keen to set up our workstation from OSIT’s Monument rooftop. This fantastic terrace comes with stunning panoramic views of the City, the Thames, The Shard and Tower Bridge. If you’re in need of an event space, look no further.

OCUBIS, City Pavilion

Forget the two large terraces on the 7th & 8th floors, it’s the rooftop terrace at City Pavilion that has us captivated - up on the 12th floor, with fabulous booths for working or twilight drinks, plus great views across the City and beyond. This is no doubt a selling point for OCUBIS.
